Winter Has Arrived
The unofficial start of winter is marked by the first snowfall. That occured today. There isn't much snow yet, just a dusting. I think this is nature's way of warming us up to the idea of winter before we get a huge storm. They are forcasting that it will be worse than last year. I hope they are wrong.

One Crazy November
To say the least things at the nest have been rather eventful. In the past two weeks, there has been a retirement, a birthday, a race, a new addition, a new paint job, and the practices for the play are in full swing.
Lets start with the retirement. On Oct 31, after 37 years my father retired from the railway. This picture was taken just before he left on his last run. So far he is really enjoying having some time to do the things he has been wanting to do.

So what else did I mention, a race. On November 2nd I ran in the Legs for Literacy 1/2 Marathon. 13.1 miles. At first it was pretty good. I finished with blisters on both feet and my legs were cramping up, my time was 2:20:57. I figure that is pretty good for a first attempt. Although I had said I wouldn't run in another race, I can't wait for next years. I hope to finish in under 2 hours.
The fuzzy face is because it is Living Nativity time again. I can't put up an pics of that yet, but all three of us are taking part and wow are things getting busy. And just to make sure that things aren't to quiet around here we are in the middle of painting the living room. Hopefully that will be done by the weekend, and I'll post some pictures then. If you want to know what color the living room is go to the local Ben Moore store and ask for Wythe Blue.
The nest also celebrated a birthday this past month. Liz has turned another year older. I won't say how old she is but she is now the same age is me and I am 34. We went to eat at Montanas to celebrate and boy do they know how to celebrate. Here is Liz wearing her party hat. Belive it or not she chose this place.

This brings me to the last entry, a new addition. To say the least Anthony is thrilled. The dogs name is Gizmo, and he is about 1 year old.
